When the application demands more than a fl at plate — when load distribution, structural depth, and long-term dimensional stability under sustained mechanical stress are non-negotiable — the Box Type FRP Base Plate is the engineering answer. JK Fibre Glass Works manufactures Box Type FRP Base Plates — precision-engineered composite structural components delivering exceptional strength-to-weight performance, complete corrosion immunity, and the rigidity required for heavy-duty equipment mounting, rooftop ventilation systems, and structural support across the most demanding service environments.

Why Box Type - When a Flat Plate Is Not Enough

A hollow box section carries bending loads far more efficiently than a solid fl at plate of equivalent weight - concentrating material at the outer faces where structural contribution is maximum. In base plate applications this means greater load capacity with less material, superior resistance to creep and deflection under sustained load, a raised profi le that creates positive drainage clearance and eliminates moisture trapping, and broader load distribution across the supporting structure. For heavy-duty ventilator installations, large industrial blowers, and process equipment on corrugated roofing - this is the specifi cation engineers reach for first.

Construction & Confi guration

Multi-layer fi breglass composite construction with laminate architecture specifi ed to your load requirement. Wall thickness from 3mm for light-duty ventilator mounting to 12mm and above for heavy process equipment bases. Available in open-base or closed-base confi gurations. The underside can be profi le-matched to corrugated, trapezoidal, or box-profi le roofi ng sheets - combining box section structural advantages with leak-proof profi le matching at the roofi ng interface. All corners and junctions receive additional reinforcement to prevent stress concentration.

Customisation Options

Resin system matched to service environment - isophthalic polyester for standard atmospheric service, vinyl ester for chemical and coastal environments, epoxy for oil and gas, refi nery, and critical process applications. UV-stable pigmented gelcoat in standard or custom colours. Fire retardant grades available across all resin systems for facilities subject to structural fi re safety codes. Non-slip surface texture for installations requiring personnel access. Pre-drilled bolt patterns and cut-outs to your dimensional drawing - eliminating on-site machining and reducing installation time. Electromagnetic transparency for telecommunications, antenna mounting, and defence infrastructure where metallic components would cause signal interference.

Applications

Heavy-duty rooftop turbo ventilator and power ventilator mounting. Industrial process equipment bases for pumps, blowers, compressors, and agitators in corrosive environments. Electrical switchgear and instrumentation mounting requiring non-conductive structural platforms. Rooftop HVAC and mechanical equipment subject to vibration and thermal cycling. Marine and offshore equipment mounting in saline and splash zone environments. Mining and mineral processing facilities with aggressive chemical atmospheres. Telecommunications and defence infrastructure requiring electromagnetic transparency.
